COMMITTEES

For many years, as an all-volunteer group, the board of Cityscape organized events. In 2008, Cityscape changed its structure to a committee structure. Several different committees based on its core mission were formed (and a couple of more required for basic operations).

Members, professionals, volunteers, residents and students who are interested in these subjects can sign up for one (or more) committees, and organize and help out on events related to that committee.  This is a "win-win" deal.  Cityscape has more volunteer resources to do more good, and members and volunteers can do more, learn more, and get more out of being involved with Cityscape.  The committees are below:

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
It is important for the group to keep track of members, volunteers, skill sets in hand, skill sets needed, records, and such.  There will be mailings that need to go out and envelopes that need to be stuffed.  This committee is headed by the membership coordinator, and can use the help of some people that can help with some of these occasional but necessary tasks

The committee:

  1. Add, maintain and delete people's information
  2. Assemble and disseminate information, as needed

Meeting times:

  1. Whatever schedule the committee decides on.  See the calendar on Cityscape's homepage for meeting times.

The committee:

  1. Organizes educational events on the topic
  2. Supports and grows this community of people in Detroit
  3. Advocates for good public policy and laws

Meeting times:
